Now that the New Year has begun it is time to decide whether you will lose
weight in 2009 or will this year be the same as the one before. It's best to
make these decisions as early in the year to take advantage of the special
motivational power the New Year has on us all.
But if you want to lose weight in 2009 you will need to do more than simply
have the desire of doing so. You really need some sort of game plan.

The first step is to set some specific goals. What are you want to achieve. You
may want more than one thing and that is great. Some common goals are to
lose 10 pounds (or more), tone your abs, thighs, or your arms. Whatever it is
that you want, it usually starts with fat loss.

The second step is to make sure you have some sort of weight loss plan to
follow. It doesn't have to be a professional program (even though I
recommend it) but it does have to be detailed enough so that you're not left
guessing what to do. Also, whatever plan you follow to lose fat in 2009, it has
to incorporate physical exercise and the proper nutrition to remain healthy
and burn calories at a rapid pace.

The third step is enlisting the support of those closest to you, friends and
family members alike. Each weight loss process has some bumps and
difficulties. You will need the help and support of those with whom you spend
most of your time so that you have people to push you on and keep your
motivation high.

If you choose a weight loss plan that works (like those I recommend in the
links below), you have every chance to make 2009 the year you lose weight
and look great.
